Pride and craftmanship are evident at each step of the knife making process and all knives are made of the finest quality materials for a lifetime of use. Each comes with a handmade sheath of genuine leather, custom made to each knife, and a zippered storage case.
Each blade is hollow-ground from ATS-34, 154 CPM or 440-C stainless steel. These are high-carbon, high-chrome steels which hold an edge well and resist corrosion. Various styles of damascus are also options. All ATS & 440-C blades are polished to a mirror finish. Damascus blades are polished, then acid treated to bring out patterns in the blade. Standard stock is 3/16″ on most styles, 1/4″ on bowies and 1/8″ on smaller knives. Paul Bos commercially heat treats all blades to 59-60RC.
Natural handle materials are most popular for their beauty and value such as foreign and domestic woods and horn. Stag, Rusa, elk, and muledeer are some personal favorites along with sheep and buffalo horn. Other options include desert ironwood, amber, oosic, ivory, and stabilized wood, while pakkawoods and micarta are best for durability.
Nickel silver is used on our hidden tang knives and on our full tangs knives. Brass is also an option.
